I live in Bydgoszcz, where I completed my engineering and master studies at the University of Technology and Life Sciences (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, specialization: Computer methods in designing mechanical systems) in 2010.
In 2016, I obtained a PhD in technical sciences in the field of construction and operation of machines.
Currently, I work at UTP as Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, which has allowed me to satisfy my innate curiosity about the world and the processes that take place in it. In my work, I have the opportunity to solve problems and conduct research on a daily basis, combining technology, medicine and biology.
In my private life, I am passionate about sailing, mountaineering and the 1976 BMW R75/7.
In 2015, I participated in the program “Top500 Innovators” implemented by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, aimed at improving qualifications in the field of cooperation with the economy and commercialization of research results. I completed a few-month internship at Stanford University, which is located in the very center of Silicon Valley. Having been able to cooperate with outstanding methodologists and teachers I learnt about Design Thinking – a methodology that revolutionized the approach to solving entrepreneurs’ problems by focusing on the end user (UX). I use my knowledge in cooperation with entrepreneurs – I have carried out commercial projects as well as trainings and workshops for enterprises and students throughout Poland. I also took part in the international project “DiamonDT” – Design Thinking Academy, whose goal was to develop a teaching path based on Design Thinking.
I have carried out projects and trainings for the following companies:
In 2010, I began cooperation with companies and enterprises from Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province in Poland, carrying out orders consisting in the design and manufacture of machinery and equipment. My main tasks included: proposing a concept, designing a project in line with applicable standards, making numerical calculations to verify strength and durability, preparing technical documentation, contacting contractors, drafting technical and operational documentation. At work, I use the following CAD software: Audesk Inventor, Autodesk AutoCad, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, CATIA, Ansys.
I have carried out projects for the following companies:
The experience I gained in the areas of science, cooperation with entrepreneurs, as well as during my internships abroad, allow me to consider myself an innovator, meaning someone who is able to carry out an effective technology audit, develop a strategy so that the company finds new customers and manufactures products with the end user in mind. During my cooperation with companies, I obtained approximately PLN 30 million from EU funds for the development of companies or new products. Before submitting the application by a company, I conduct a technology audit, draft an R&D report, including research findings and the proposal e.g. of a new technological line, plus I review innovativeness.
In this model, I have cooperated with the following companies:
